Dining Partners

I’ve never met an animal that excels in expressing joy for epicurean delights as much as a duck. Their ectasy over dandelions, grass seed heads, a full pail of water overcomes them. Tails waggle, bills fuss, gullets fill as they graze the yard with gusto I typically reserve for dishes of decandence I see once each year. 

I should learn from them. To uninhibitedly express delight at every type of culinary conquest. To delight in a worm as much as a succulent leaf. To constantly praise the very foods giving me life in all of their simplicity and grace.
